AMMAN — One Yemeni national was killed and two others injured in a road accident on Queen Alia International Airport Road on Saturday morning, official sources said.

The accident, which occurred around 9:30 am, involved a tractor and a tanker driving in the direction of the airport, a senior traffic official told The Jordan Times.

“The tanker driver changed his lane suddenly and slammed into the tractor,” the senior traffic official added.

Civil Defence Department (CDD) rescue teams rushed to the scene and treated the injured, according to a CDD statement.

“The three who were in the tractor were rushed to a nearby hospital, where one was declared dead on arrival and another listed in critical condition,” the CDD statement said.

The third person injured, also a Yemeni national, was listed in fair condition, according to the CDD statement.

The deceased was identified as Zuhri Naser, 22, according to traffic officials.

The tanker driver is currently in police custody pending further investigations, according to the traffic official.
